Saturday night was good. Saturday night was right. Saturday night was Zach Randolph hitting an improbable three-pointer to essentially seal the Game 3 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Saturday night was the Grizzlies allowing the Spurs’ big three of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker to go a combined 15-37 from the field. Saturday night was the Memphis fans cheering their hardest and not letting the Spurs forget that the Memphis Grizzlies are a team to be reckoned with.
What will Monday night be? Currently up 2-1 in the series, the Grizzlies have the chance to take a 3-1 lead, something that, admittedly, I did not think was possible. These playoffs have made me a believer, though. Why can’t we beat the Spurs?!?! Screw the Spurs, let’s beat the Thunder! After watching my Grizzlies build a big lead, watch that lead evaporate late, and then hold on down the stretch, I believe this team can beat anyone.
Grizzlies fans, as important as Saturday night was, tonight’s contest is even more important. Z-Bo & Co. need us. They need us to wave those Growl Towels as hard as we did in Game 3. They need us to cheer loud even if we aren’t in the Forum. Most importantly, they need us to believe.
I believe,
Owen

I’m going to be honest. Even as a die-hard fan, it is hard to believe that we will be able to keep the series lead. Just years and years of conditioning to reinforce this belief. Hopefully tonight will change that stubborn nagging of pessimism from all of us. GrizzHard
