MLG&W: Memphis Light GRIZZ and Water

Memphis: powered by Grizz

Call Mayor Wharton, tell him we’ve solved the city’s energy crisis. Memphians have recently discovered a new energy source in the city, one that’s unparalleled in Memphis history and spreading at a lightning quick rate. Scientists have been hypothesizing for the past decade over the potential for this new energy source, but until last Saturday night, they had never seen, nor imagined, anything of this magnitude. The University of Memphis’ Center for Earthquake Research and Information falsely blamed the New Madrid fault for the dynamic activity based on the readings from their seismographs. However, scientists, government officials and sports fans everywhere were largely unprepared for what actually caused the city of Memphis to erupt on Saturday night and again, with a second, even more forceful tremor, two nights later on Monday. The epicenter of this energy source was pinpointed as emanating from 191 Beale Street, Memphis, TN 38103 inside of downtown’s crown jewel: the FedEx Forum

Electric. Exhilarating. Overpowering. Contagious.

Just ask Tony Parker and the Spurs, they’ll say it’s un”bear”able.

Grizz fans, we have found what we’ve sought after the past ten seasons. Not just one playoff victory, not just one home playoff victory, not even two home playoff victories, but we’ve found our voice. We’ve found our passion. We’ve found our team, and in the process, we’ve found success.

The back-to-back victories over the #1 seeded Spurs on Saturday and Monday nights are defining moments for a migrant franchise that found a welcoming yet timid home in “the Bluff City”. These three playoff victories in the series have released a dormant fervor for the Grizzlies, raw and wild, that has “spurred” this team, this franchise and this city out from its ten-year hibernation.

City Council, we don’t need more power stations, take that money and invest in downtown, invest in midtown, invest in Whitehaven, invest in East Memphis. If we don’t act soon, the power source will soon blow its reactor, and the energy will be lost, if not properly channeled to all regions of the city, its suburbs, and the Mid-South. Soon with proper transmission, this new energy, this “grizzlife,” can energize the whole country.

Grizz nation, powered by MLGrizz&W.
