Tonight is the night! The Grizz tip off the 2010-2011 season, their tenth in Memphis, tonight against the Atlanta Hawks at the FedEx Forum. Game time is set for 7 pm CST. The Forum should be packed out with blued-out Grizz fans, which will surely be a beautiful sight for all the grizzlifers out there. It’s an emotional night for many of us tonight as tonight marks the tenth season for the Grizz in Memphis. Many enter this year with pessimism and negativity, while some enter with unguarded, over-the-top optimism.
So, what are the grizzlife staffers saying about tonight’s game?
LJ: “I believe the Grizz will show tonight that they are playoff contenders. It’s just a matter of time before people start jumping on the Grizz bandwagon.”
Big Shot Bob: “I wish I could be more positive but this seems like the beginning of the end for the Grizz. I won’t pull for the Las Vegas dice in 5 years.”
Jordan: “To quote Hasheem Thabeet’s twitter: ‘lehhgo! Team grizzlies!”
Owen: “I’m obviously ecstatic about the start of the season. The start of the season is always the best. The hope of a playoff berth is still alive!”
Michael: “I’m excited to see how the young, talented grizz are going to respond tonight to Gasol’s injury and a traditional aversion to winning season openers. Can’t wait to see Conley finally step his game up!”
Maroda: “We play well in front of the hometown fans AKA the bear’s den. Players are going to come out and play physical ball because that’s what they do…Get it? Got it? Go Grizz!”
We are excited about a new season. Remember to check in with grizzlife for updates tonight!
